2. Services Description
Compass Learning Hub provides private tutoring services for elementary, middle, and high school students (K-12) in various subjects including mathematics, science, English, social studies, test preparation, and study skills. Services may be provided in-person or online, as agreed upon during booking.
3. Eligibility
Our services are intended for students in grades K-12. Parents or legal guardians must consent to and supervise the use of our services for students under 18 years of age.
4. Booking and Scheduling
- Session bookings are subject to tutor availability
- We will confirm all appointments within 24 hours of receiving a booking request
- Session times and locations will be confirmed via email or phone
- Changes to scheduled sessions must be communicated as soon as possible
5. Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy
Important: Please review our cancellation policy carefully.
- Client Cancellations: Sessions must be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance for a full refund or to reschedule without charge
- Late Cancellations: Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled session may be subject to a cancellation fee
- No-Shows: Failure to attend a scheduled session without prior notice will result in a full charge for the session
- Tutor Cancellations: If we need to cancel a session, you will be notified as soon as possible and offered a full refund or alternative session time
6. Payment Terms
- Payment rates will be communicated during the booking confirmation process
- Payment is due at the time of service or as otherwise agreed upon
- Accepted payment methods will be confirmed during booking
- Late payments may result in suspension of services
7. Refund Policy
- Refunds for cancelled sessions are provided in accordance with our cancellation policy (Section 5)
- If you are dissatisfied with a session, please contact us within 24 hours to discuss the issue
- Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis and at our discretion
8. Academic Results Disclaimer
Important Notice: While we strive to provide high-quality educational support, we cannot guarantee specific academic outcomes, test scores, or grades. Success depends on many factors including student effort, attendance, and individual circumstances.
9. Conduct and Expectations
Students are expected to:
- Arrive on time and prepared for sessions
- Treat tutors with respect and courtesy
- Complete assigned work between sessions
- Actively participate in learning activities
Parents/Guardians are expected to:
- Provide accurate information about student needs and goals
- Communicate regularly about student progress
- Ensure a suitable learning environment for sessions
- Support student learning between sessions
10. Limitation of Liability
Compass Learning Hub and its tutors shall not be liable for:
- Academic performance or outcomes
- Standardized test scores or admission results
- Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of our services
- Loss or damage to personal property during sessions
11. Safety and Supervision
- For in-person sessions, a parent or guardian should remain on the premises or nearby
- For online sessions, parents should ensure appropriate internet safety measures
- We maintain professional boundaries and follow child safety best practices
12. Intellectual Property
- All teaching materials, curriculum, and content created by Compass Learning Hub remain our intellectual property
- Students may use materials for personal educational purposes only
- Reproduction or distribution of our materials without permission is prohibited
13. Privacy and Confidentiality
We respect your privacy and handle personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Student progress and academic information is kept confidential and shared only with parents/guardians unless required by law.
14. Modifications to Services
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of our services at any time. We will provide reasonable notice of significant changes.
15. Termination
Either party may terminate the tutoring relationship at any time with written notice. We reserve the right to terminate services immediately for:
- Violation of these Terms of Service
- Abusive, threatening, or inappropriate behavior
- Non-payment of fees
- Any conduct that compromises the safety or well-being of our staff or other clients
16. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified terms. We will notify users of significant changes via email or website notification.
17. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of Washington. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of King County, Washington.
